Poll shows overwhelming agreement with President Trump on historical statues.
A recent poll by Rasmussen has revealed that the majority of the public agrees with President Trump over historical statues and monuments.
On August 17 and 20, 2017, a Rasmussen poll asked:
"1) Several of our early presidents including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were slave owners. Should their names be removed from public places and statues in their honor taken down?
2) Two of the four presidents honored on Mount Rushmore were slave owners. Should that monument be closed or changed?
3) Is it better to erase the wrongs of the past or try to learn from them?"
The response from voters was strongly in agreement with President Trump. It's better to learn from the past than to erase it.

"Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You can't change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E Lee, Stonewall Jackson - who's next, Washington, Jefferson? So foolish! Also the beauty that is being taken out of our cities, towns and parks will be greatly missed and never able to be comparably replaced!"
