The slow death of the traditional media.
Fox News summarizes the jobs boost. |
Leisure and hospitality added 55,000 jobs.
Health care and social assistance added 37,000 jobs.
Financial activities added 19,000 jobs.
Mining added 9,000 jobs.
Professional and business services added 39,000 jobs.
However, although the overall trend was positive, not all job sectors saw an increase. One of the few categories to see a fall was 'Information/Media' which lost 7,000 jobs. This continued the trend from previous months, with 6,000 media jobs lost in March, and 6,000 media jobs lost in February.
So to summarize, pretty much every job sector has seen a jobs boost, with the exception of the media. Looks like a win for everyone!
It would seem that informed members of the public are deserting the biased mainstream media, and looking elsewhere for their news.
The New York Times were famously labeled the Failing New York Times by President Trump, and the label gained extra relevance when the Failing New York Times was forced to shut down 8 floors of offices.2
The Guardian recently begged for donations3 in an article headlined, "In this new world, now is the time to support fearless, independent (sic) journalism." The article began, "With your help we can report with courage and fairness (sic) on the issues that now look set to shape the US and beyond." This was accompanied by a link where readers could make a donation.
If the biased mainstream media want to survive, here are a few suggestions for them.
* Try reporting real news, instead of pushing constant narrative-driven propaganda.
* Try reporting on the proven Clinton links with Russia4, rather than the fake Russia/Trump tax funded hoax story.5
* Try employing real experts who get things right once in a while, rather than incompetent agenda-driven 'analysts' who get their predictions spectacularly wrong.6
* Try reporting on some of the scandals revealed by the Podesta emails, rather than covering up for corrupt politicians and former leaders.7
The last year has seen some massive stories. It's just a shame the biased mainstream media chose to sweep many of these stories under the carpet.
Much of the biased mainstream media have sold out their principles, and the job figures suggest they are now paying the price. As you sow, so shall you reap. It would seem that the journalistic price for pushing false stories and covering up real scandals is the slow death of the traditional media.
