How to fight back against reddit censorship.

Reddit admin's abuse of power reached new levels
when they recently removed three mods from The_Donald.
Reddit users will be aware that reddit have openly enforced censorship and unfair restrictions against The_Donald (a subreddit for supporters of President Trump) via various methods for several months now.

Reddit admin's abuse of power reached new levels recently when they removed three mods from The_Donald without warning. So in a show of strength, The_Donald has temporarily gone dark as a protest against these unfair restrictions.

For anyone who supports free speech and wants to fight back against reddit's censorship of free speech, here are a few things you can do to hurt reddit's advertising revenue.

1) Use an adblocker

This is the most obvious way to hurt reddit. Without ads, reddit lose a significant chunk of their revenue.

However, if you use an adblocker, remember to disable it when browsing websites which support free speech, such as voat. And of course also disable adblockers when browsing pro-Trump websites and blogs such as Redpilled World!

2) Hide the spotlight box

Advertisers can pay to have their links promoted in the spotlight box on the reddit home feed. You can reduce reddit's advertising revenue by hiding these promoted links:

* Click on 'preferences' in the top right corner.

* Go to 'link options' and untick 'show the spotlight box on the home feed'.

* Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'save options'.

3) Disable personalized ads

If you disable personalized ads reddit will still show you adverts, but the adverts will be less relevant. This disables the ability for advertisers to target redditors with specific interests, which in turn makes advertising on reddit less effective.

To disable personalized ads:

* Click on 'preferences' in the top right corner.

* Scroll down to 'advertising options' (near the bottom of the page) and click 'set personalized ads preferences'.

* Untick the 'Show me personalized ads from Reddit on this browser' box.

* Click 'save options'.

4) Affiliate links

Reddit used to have an option which allowed them to personalize your outbound clicks with an affiliate link. This meant that reddit would then receive a percentage payment if you bought anything from the outbound website.

The 'affiliate links' option no longer shows up in preferences, and it appears to have been replaced by the option 'allow reddit to log my outbound clicks for personalization'. This may be a sneaky way for reddit to add affiliate links to your outbound clicks without openly admitting it, so to err on the side of caution I would recommend unticking this option.

* Click on 'preferences' in the top right corner.

* Scroll down to 'privacy options' and untick 'allow reddit to log my outbound clicks for personalization'.

* Scroll down and click 'save options'.

5) Never buy reddit gold!

This is an obvious one, but it's worth repeating. Never buy reddit gold and encourage others who believe in free speech to also never buy reddit gold.

Finally, some people might argue that the best way to fight back against reddit is to stop using it. This is a strategy I've pondered upon myself with regard to other pro-censorship websites such as twitter.

However, if every Trump supporter left reddit and other pro-censorship internet websites, that would allow fake news stories and propaganda spread by the leftist mainstream media to spread unhindered. We all need to be active on as many social networks and internet forums as possible. This is a war of information. This is a war of truth against misinformation. All Trump supporters need to remain active on facebook, twitter, reddit, voat, gab, minds, etc, to fight against the attempts of the shadow government and their brainwashed feeble-minded puppets to subvert democracy. The voices of all free speech supporters need to be heard.

However, in making our voices heard, we should also do all we can to hurt the profits of pro-censorship websites like reddit, twitter and facebook.

Redpilled World has also prepared a step-by-step guide on how to delete your facebook advert interests:

In a forthcoming article Redpilled World plans to highlight examples of some of the abuse and hate-filled messages that anti-Trumpists and the 'tolerant left' have sent to the mods of The_Donald and also to regular The_Donald posters (including myself).
